In Room 5 and 6 we learned that our families have fascinating histories - some involved in the wars of the past. We paid tribute to our heroes in many ways.

Kia ora tatou. Last week Room 5 and 6 were busy doing various activities to commemorate Anzac Day. We made wreaths of poppies out of egg cartons and placed them at our gates. We also used our measuring skills and patience to create Anzac biscuits and learned about the reason these were sent to our soldiers (they last in the post)! Some of us rose early at dawn to stand silently at our gates. It was a sombre occasion but an important one. Special thank you to the parents/caregivers who are putting in amazing efforts to help us learn.
