COMMUNITY DISCO - see attachment

Annette MacRae —

We have  been aware of a need for the youth of Mosgiel to have some safe and fun activities.  The Community Patrol would like to be doing something proactive, as well as the surveillance they normally do in the evenings. The SHFT routinely run programmes for more limited numbers, but are keen to offer their venue to a wider group. We have run the idea past our community constable Aime, and have her support. If the night goes well we will look to run subsequent events together.

Our debut evening is Saturday night 1 April; with 2 sessions at The Hub, 4 Cemetery Rd, East Taieri. Primary students are welcomed from 6-7pm; and parents are invited, but not required, to stay in the adjoining lounge. Intermediate and High School age youth are welcome from 7.30-9.00pm.

We are requesting a gold coin donation. There will be crisps provided free and soft drink for sale.

Each session will be limited to 100 young people to keep everyone safe. We also reserve the right to check bags.

The event is drug free, alcohol free, smoke and vape free.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,

Jan Jopson
