I received this email last week and thought that I would share it with you - a great compliment to our students.

'Good morning My name is Juanita and I live in Kinmont, I walk most mornings past the school and just wanted to say that your pupils are fantastic, you see, i am blind and have a guide dog and from day one the kids even the smallest of them have been so respectful and have the most wonderful manners I've heard in a long time, they move out of the way when we are passing, they say good morning and have a nice day and this is so unheard of with many young ones now days that the staff and parents of these young people should be very proud.' 

This morning all students enjoyed a session with James Russell, bestselling children’s writer. James is the author of the self-published Dragon Brothers trilogy: The Dragon Hunters (2012), The Dragon Tamers (2013) and The Dragon Riders (2014), James has also published five Dragon Defenders books. An innovator and augmented reality (AR) enthusiastic, Russell’s publications use AR technology to bring three-dimensional ‘magic’ to his books. Hopefully we will see some great writing from our East Taieri authors following James's visit.
