I am an avid dragon boater! I've been competing in Hong Kong's competitive local & international race circuit for the last 8 years. I love this sport! So much so that I had to start a club down here. So, with a lot of help from some Christchurch teams & a couple of other dragon boat nuts that have recently relocated from Auckland, we have done it! A boat is down here, council approval has been gained for storage & we are ready to unleash this sport upon Dunedin!

We are hosting an open day over the next two Saturdays. From 9:30am till 12.00 at the otago yacht club. The sport is open from 14 years + (by plus I really do mean plus, some local hk paddlers were in their late 60's & still paddling). We provide paddles, pdf's (life jackets) & instruction. You need to be able to swim 50m in the clothes you paddle in & be ready to have fun! (That's a safety aspect, capsizes are incredibly rare).

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and you're happy to get wet (it is a watersport). Bring a towel, drink bottle & a change of clothes for afterwards. Any questions please dont hesitate to contact me and feel free to spread the word!
