PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

Ka puta Matariki ka rere Whānui. Ko te tohu tēnā o te tau e! Matariki re-appears, Whānui starts its flight. Being the sign of the [new] year!

Kia ora koutou

Welcome to Term 3 at East Taieri. I hope that everyone has enjoyed the holiday break, enjoying extra time with family and friends. We celebrate Matariki this Wednesday evening and invite you to join us for soup and bread rolls provided by the Home and School committee, following performances by our Kapa Haka groups and singing from our Junior School. For more information see the article later in the newsletter.

Room 13

Room 13, the prefab at the front gate, starts up this term for our new entrants who begin school throughout the next two terms. Belinda Duff will be the classroom teacher, with Sarah Vink as Belinda's release teacher.

New Road Crossing

A new road crossing on Cemetery Road has been installed by the DCC. It was considered a safer place to cross, especially with the greater volume of traffic associated with the work that has begun on the new subdivision at the end of Cemetery Road. Thanks to Chris Hey for his input, working with the DCC towards the completion of this project

Focus Value - KINDNESS

Have a great term everyone.

Ngā mihi

Jennifer
