ADMISSION TO CONCERT:
We invite all parents and families of performing children to attend the concert. Because the Town Hall has been kindly offered to us free of charge, there is no admission fee. However, donations will be most gratefully accepted on entry to defray expenses associated with the concert. The audience may sit anywhere upstairs except the centre rows A-C. Programmes will be available to purchase.
SMMC Demonstration Concert:
Sunday September 25th, 2022 (3pm start)
Performance arrangements for pupils:
• Tidy dress is the usual expectation.
• Please aim to arrive at 2:30 if you have an instrument to be tuned, and 2:45 if not.
• Enter through the Harrop Street entrance near the Glenroy entrance. Go upstairs where you will see a sign saying “Coats and Cases.” Please unpack your instruments here and wait to be shown where you are seated. Recorders and guitars can go straight to their upstairs corridors.
• The toilets are off the side corridors (upstairs and downstairs).
• It is good manners to remain still and quiet during an item. It is polite to applaud at the end of an item.
• Before you perform, you will be escorted backstage as a group so that you can line up for entry onto the stage. You will need to do this quickly and quietly. After performing, you will be taken back to your seats.
• Except for very young performers, it is expected that performers stay for the whole concert.
• At the end, that is, after the massed item “Hymn to Joy”, you will be able to return to the entrance passage to collect your coats and cases.
• It would be sensible to have a prior arrangement with your parents as to where you meet up after the concert.
We thank all pupils for their participation, and we are grateful to all parents for their assistance in making this annual concert a happy event.
This concert concludes SMMC Term Three. Weekday teaching centres start on their first day in Term Four. George St and Bathgate Park centres resume Term Four on Saturday 29th of October, the weekend after Labour weekend.
