CREATIVE WRITING IN ROOMS 11&12

Melanie Cruickshank —

Over the last week all of the children in Rooms 11 & 12 have been working hard to plan and write their very own story. This week and next week they will be working on completing their story and turning it into a real book with illustrations. Below are the beginnings of some great stories.

It was a hot sunny day at Fairyland.  Lucy and Emma were garden fairies.  They could hear the wind, magical horses neighing and other fairies talking.  Lucy was twenty five years old and Emma was thirty two years old.

Lucy shouted to Emma, "Let's play on the playground in our garden!"

"But I do not want to play on the playground," said Emma.

Lucy said, "But we haven't played on the playground for a long time."

It was a sunny day on the farm. Bob and Tom were getting ready to ride the horses. Tom got out the fluffy blue saddle. Bob got out the orange coat.  They got on the horses and they galloped away.  Then the  horses stopped because they were running too fast.

It was a sunny morning when Luca, Milly and Emma woke up.  They were so excited to go to the jungle. Luca drove the car.  When they got there Milly, Luca and Emma went to sleep because it was night time.  The next day they went for walk. They walked so far that they got lost.

"Where are we?" said Milly.

It was a rainy day when Owen, Claire, Dr Wu and Max went to Jurassic World.  When they first got to Jurassic world they heard dinosaurs. Jurassic World was three years old.  Owen, Claire, Dr Wu and Max went for a long, long walk to different dinosaur cages. They saw baby dinosaurs and adult dinosaurs. The T-Rex had the most baby dinosaurs. Some dinosaurs had no baby dinosaurs.

Owen said to Claire, "We need a new dinosaur."

Dr Wu said, "I can make one."

Once upon a time there were four little children whose names were Mia, Jay, Bob and Vanessa. But...Mia was not a person! What she really was, was a...mermaid.  Everyone shrieked and they were even more horrified when they found out that she had magical powers.

Mrs Mimie said, "Alright everyone, let me count you up before we get on the bus."

Finally they arrived at the beach. Mia jumped straight out of her capsule and into the ocean.

"No Mia, you'll drown!" shouted Mrs Mimie.

Mia shook her head.

Then she shouted, "Look at me everyone!"

Six years ago in Antarctica there was melting ice and snow was falling into the water.  Snow storms were coming. Leopard seals were going back into the water and the huskies were hunting for food. The huskies saw a dead orca whale and they all ate the whole orca. Then they went back into the snow and carved themselves back into the snow to get warm again.
