At East Taieri School we implement the Play Is The Way (PITW) programme. This programme has been designed to develop students' skills that will help them manage themselves, their relationships, and their work effectively and ethically.

Underpinning The Play Is The Way programme are five key concepts (Life Rafts).
- Treat others as you would like them to treat you
- Be brave - participate to progress
- Pursue your personal best no matter who you work with - Have reasons for the things you say and do
- It takes great strength to be sensible
