Message from Karen Hanna - Chairperson, East Taieri School Board of Trustees

We are living in unprecedented times with the COVID 19 restrictions. It is reassuring to know we are heading in the right direction as we move into level 3.

As a Board, we are extremely impressed at how the teaching and support staff have managed to carry on during these unprecedented times. We wish to thank Mrs Horgan, all the teaching and support staff, for the amazing work they have achieved throughout the lockdown period. The amount of work the teachers have put in to ensure all students have the ability to carry on with their learning during this time is amazing. A HUGE thank you from the Board!

Also, a HUGE thank you to all the parents who have helped their children with their learning and continue to do so, throughout these challenging times.

If I can quote the president of the NZSTA, “Education is complex under normal circumstances, these are anxious times yet despite that- everybody has a stake in it and it really matters. It goes to the heart of what we want for our children, what kind of world and what kind of society we want them to grow up in.”
