PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.

Kia ora Koutou

It was so good to see the whole school out playing together at interval and lunchtime today. Student Council members are delighted to be able to pick up their 'Helping Hands' roles again and PALs will be starting up activities shortly.

A reminder of our changed guidelines as from today:

- Intervals and lunch times will be at the same times for everyone.

- Afternoon pick up times will remain the same until the Cemetery Road project is completed.

- While parents are welcome to come on-site, we would encourage the wearing of masks and would prefer that parents leave children at the classroom door. We are mindful of last week's information from Dr Michael Butchard, Medical Officer of Health, advising that the Southern DHB region currently has one of the highest rates of Covid-19 in New Zealand, higher than all of the North Island DHBs and the larger South Island DHBs. The wearing of masks is strongly encouraged.

We are also aware of a neighbouring school with seven staff away last week with Covid.

- We have decided to  live stream our cultural assembly this term and will postpone Grandparents' Day, with the health of grandparents being a major concern.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Ngā mihi nui
