SELL OUT SHERBET
Many thanks for supporting this fundraising on Friday for Foster Hope Otago.
Unfortunately we sold out and also unfortunately our quality control was little interesting ... this is because... four young ladies organised, prepared and ran this fundraising event all on their own.
They chose to make Sherbet to sell and they chose the charity to donate the proceeds to.
Yes some bags had quite a lot of sherbet and some bags didn't. However, all the money raised went to a good cause.
Myself and their parents donated all of the ingredients. This is an example of how four young people can make a difference in our community.
They used these 21st Century Skills; They solved a real world problem - by providing money needed for foster children in Otago for new emergency clothing like pjs, They collaborated (worked together) They Self-Regulated (managed themselves to prepare, make and sell the sherbet) They used ICT tools to help them investigate charities that they could donate to and also googled how to make sherbet.
Next time they plan to work on their quality control and carefully measure out with measuring cups so that each bag has exactly the same amount.
On reflection 1/4 cup of sherbet would be sufficient :)
So...Congratulations to; Aria Wilson, Michaela Hincks, Kayla McLema and Olive Fulton for raising $120.00 for Foster Hope Otago.
Be proud of your achievements.
Many Thanks
