***OUR HOME LEARNING***

Joanne Bryson —

Baking, walks, huts, LEGO, bike rides and birthdays...you name it, we've probably done it!

Pohutukawa and Kahikatea students have been working hard and playing hard during the last few weeks.

With sleepy eyes and bed hair (and that was just the teachers!) our day started with our 9:00 zoom session.

Zoom sessions are a wonderful opportunity to catch up with each other, have a laugh, share and discuss learning.

Home learning consists of a mixture of must do's and can do's with students completing this online or in their work packs.

With the arrival of Spring last Wednesday the must do for the day was a Spring Poem:

Blossoms popping, sunshine piercing my skin, guinea pigs chirping, music ringing through the yard. Oh how lovely Spring is in this September time.

Long grass blowing in the wind, bees buzzing, birds of all kinds chirping, warm flowery scents everywhere you go, beams of sunlight dancing in your mouth, lying down on the grass cloud gazing.

Lambs and calves everywhere, chirps of birds welcoming the warmth, pollen spreading around, sweet sweet honey dipped in sugar, life blooming after an eternal sleep.

Greenery with beautiful flowers dotted around the trees, birds chirping while calves and lambs are being born, pollen being carried through the air by butterflies, still calm warm peaceful days. It’s magical of course, why wouldn't it be? With spring power streaming through the air, every year.

Everything is going green again, birds chirping, smells like a yellow daffodil, tastes like fresh water, nice warm sunny days.

Sunny days, planting new things, raining down the window sills, insects crawling through the flowers, night sky, growing daffodils.

Blossom petals falling off flowers and swaying through the wind, birds tweeting a tune of cheer, roses scent popping up here and there, cherries growing on a fine thick tree, nature a very big part of me.

Light pink tree’s blowing in the breeze, chirps of birds ruffling the leaves, pollen from the bees, blooming in spring breeze, fun in the sun with flowers for everyone, gardening with the family only to find honey bees.
