TE WIKI O TE REO MAORI AND POLYFEST

Lisa Agnew —

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) has been celebrated in New Zealand since 1975. It acknowledges and celebrates the Māori language as a unique cultural treasure for all New Zealanders.

To celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori we will be singing waiata together, reading Māori legends and practising our te reo. On Friday both of the East Taieri Kapa Haka groups are performing at the annual Otago Polyfest, with the junior/middles scheduled to perform at approximately 12pm and the seniors at 12:45pm.

We would love to have as many of our whanau and friends supporting us at the Polyfest as possible. If you hoping to catch our performances we advise that you arrive at least 20 minutes early to ensure you catch our performance. The cost of entry is $2.

Students performing on Friday will be transported to and from the Edgar Centre by bus.

Thank you for your support.
