The above proverb is used on an occasion when something special takes place. I felt that it was the perfect proverb for this week, as Friday's Vision Launch assembly was a very special event. 

After much discussion and input from our School Community; staff, whanau and our students, we developed our new vision which we revealed last term. We are very excited about our new vision and wanted to ensure the children shared our excitement. So last Friday we had a special assembly to launch our new vision with the children. Each class chose a word (Empower. Inspire or Care) to unpack in their classes and prepared an item to showcase what the word meant to them. We had many varied and wonderful performances from each class.

We will continue to develop a shared understanding of the vision so that it becomes embedded in our culture, and our school community is clear about what we believe is important to East Taieri School.
