SPORTS INFORMATION - WEEK 10

Jolene Casey —

Check out the links for our sports draws etc. Also a link to a great article from Sport NZ about child growth and development.

Fingers and Toes crossed to get a team selected to play in a Rippa Rugby Tournament on Friday with the All Blacks Rugby Team.  Mrs Casey has entered a Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 team into the competition, so we hope to get a team selected to play.

If you are looking ahead to next term, all 3 of our main winter codes, miniball, netball and hockey continue through most of next term too. Nearer the end of next term we will be opening registrations for Touch, Futsal, Flippa Ball and T Ball, keep an eye out for these.

Hockey

Remember to check out the OHA website for draw updates each week. Scroll down to the Primary School Hockey options. The draw is out right through until the end of the competition next term.

This school holidays Otago Hockey is running Junior Skills Clinics for players in years 3-6 at school. These clinics are an awesome opportunity develop individual and team skills in a fun environment!

The clinics will run over the 13th and 14th July, with people being separated into age groups. Children in years 3&4 will have their sessions 9am-12pm, and children in year 5&6 1pm-4pm.

Cost of these clinics will be $50 per child, or $90 if you register two children! Spaces are limited so register at http://oha.org.nz/jsc now!

Miniball

The Taieri Miniball website has the draw each week:- https://www.sporty.co.nz/taieriminiball

The policy with SNOW DAYS for miniball is that if schools are closed on that day, there is NO Miniball for that day. If it is a late start, then miniball continues as normal after school.

ALL children NEED a mouth guard to play miniball, so please ensure you have this ready to go.

Feel free to send through any game reports and / or photos of your teams in action. :-)

Netball

Make sure you have liked the Taieri Plains Junior Netball Facebook page for all the latest updates.
