SPORTS INFORMATION - WEEK 10

Jolene Casey —

Cricket Smash

Congratulations to our 3 cricket teams for completing the Cricket Smash season.  It was a disrupted few weeks with the rain and Covid for some, but I hope everyone enjoyed the games they did get to play and learnt heaps along the way.

Huge thanks to our Parent Managers who helped out with our teams each week.

Touch

Last games today - best of luck to teams in the finals.  I hope everyone has had lots of fun and will be keen to play touch again at the end of Term 3 and into Term 4.

Another huge thanks to our many Parent Coaches and Managers.  We couldn't have as many children playing without your support, so a huge thank you for all of your time and effort.

The draw is available on the school sports website and the Otago Touch website.

Futsal

Year 3/4 Jade play on Tuesday's and Year 5/6 Navy team play on a Wednesday. For this weeks draw click on the tabs at the bottom for each new week, we are in Round 6 this week.

Good luck to our teams.

Netball

We would love more parents to support our netball coordinator and be on the Taieri Junior Netball Committee. If you are keen to help out this year, please get in contact with Belinda Duff. We also desperately need more parents to put their hand up to coach. 2 people can not coach over 50 children. We will fully support you in your role as coach, be brave and have a go. :-)

Netball Registrations are now closed.

Miniball

Registrations for Miniball are now closed. Teams will be getting sorted over the next few weeks.  Unfortunately we do not have ANY COACHES registered.  If you are able to help out, please email Jolene asap, otherwise we will not be entering any teams.

Hockey

Registrations are still open for Junior Hockey in Term 2 and 3. Check out the school sports website for more information and also the link below for the form to fill in.  We still require 1 or 2 more players in the Year 3 and 4 team and the Year 5 and 6 team.  Please register before Wednesday this week.  LAST CHANCE.  :-)

Hockey is played in Dunedin at the main turf on Harbour Terrace and at Kings High School and also on the new turf at Taieri College. It is played on a Wednesday afterschool from 3.45 - 6.00pm.

Hockey is for all children from Years 3-6. There are some other hockey options available for the Year 1-2 children during different parts of the term. Keep an eye on the website and newsletters for these too.

The children do not need to have a hockey stick to play as we can lend you one from school, so it's a great opportunity to give it a go first before spending money on gear.
