SPORTS NEWS - WEEK 6

Rachel Phillips —

I am loving all the amazing results that have been emailed to me this week. All of them have highlighted great sportsmanship and teamwork skills. Keep up the amazing work East Taieri tamariki.

Miniball:

The Taieri Miniball website has the draw each week:- https://www.sporty.co.nz/taieriminiball

ALL children NEED a mouth guard to play miniball, so please ensure you have this ready to go.

ET Spurs report - Another fantastic game from the Spurs tonight against Elm Grove Magic. The Spurs really put up a fight with no subs, great guarding and possession of the ball. Player of the day was Cameron M.Final score 26-12 to East Taieri.

Hockey:

This week is slightly different for our hockey teams. Please read below the information for hockey this week. We are hosting a fun and exciting day on Wednesday the 8th of June, to celebrate hockey with special guest- our very own Black Stick Tessa Jopp!!

We encourage everyone to all dress up in their wackiest Black and White, wear wigs, face paint etc. There will be an opportunity for everyone to meet Tessa, alongside a fundraiser BBQ, music and fun giveaways!!!

Draw:

Yr 3/4 Speedy Sticks vs Warrington RS, 3.45pm, LFT 3

Yr 5/6 Super Sticks vs STM Blockers, 4.25pm LFT 1

Yr 5/6 Super Sticks team report -

From team manager Katie: I was super proud of the Super Sticks this week after a very rough, physical game against Grants Braes. Each and everyone of you should be proud of how you maintained good sportsmanship and displayed your East Taieri learner qualities in difficult conditions. Your hard work paid off resulting in a draw 2-2. Well done team!Congratulations to this weeks player of the day: Grace
