DESCRIPTIVE WRITING ABOUT A STORM - "VIOLENT WEATHER"

Written by Poppy Scott - Room 7

Mum raced upstairs and interrupted me and said that there would be a tremendous weather event.  Dad was out going to save the animals.  and to sandbag - he works on a farm.  I wanted to go with him but he said it was way too dangerous.  He said he would tell me how high my school creek would be.  All of a sudden it all went quite.  It was like Mother Nature was holding her breath.  I was scared.  I ran to Mum trembling with fear.  Mum said to look outside with a nervous voice.  I opened the curtain and a flash of light flew in my face.  Then crash bang boom, it started crashing and howling.  It was a storm alright!  In the morning it was very sunny.  We were surprised!  I looked outside.  it was even messier than my room!  Everyone was devastated.  That day we went all around the neighbourhood cleaning up.  It was so calm.  It was like my sister after a crying storm!  We all learned that rain, wind, thunder and lightning can be ferocious.
