Between 6am and 7am yesterday morning the creek had risen at least 15cm and the rain was torrential. The decision was then made at 7:30am in conjunction with the Board Chair to close the school because of the rapidly rising creek, the flooded car park and the severe weather warning for Dunedin. 

We understand that the decision may have caused inconvenience for many of our families. The overall safety of children was our main concern.
