It has been a great start to the miniball season. I have had wonderful feedback from some coaches/managers sharing stories of great teamwork and sportsmanship from our East Taieri teams. Tino pai to all players.

ET Spurs:

The Spurs played their first game of the season against the East Taieri Slammers, the team play extremely well together. Jackson S received player of the day. The final score was 28-01 to the slammers.

ET Nuggets:

The ET Nuggets had an amazing game against Outram getting the win 18 - 4. So many cool moments of passing, scoring and arms up.

Hockey:

Draw - yet to be confirmed. I will email the draw as soon as it is released.

Results:

ET Yr 3/4 Speedy Sticks

Another great game this week, great team work and bundles of enthusiasm. 2-0 to ETS vs Ōpoho.
Player of the Day: Jack F
A huge thank you to Ash & Isha, who happily filled in for Ōpoho, who were a few players short.

ET Yr 5/6 Super Sticks

The Super Sticks had a bye this week but kicked the season off to a flying start against Columba on the 11th May. It was hard to believe this team hadn’t played together before as everyone worked together and contributed to this fast paced game. Astonishing to know that for Noah, Kimberley and Isha, this was their first time playing hockey. Their natural ability is obvious. The experience of Alex and Archie helped guide the team to their first victory 5-0. Congratulations to our player of the day: Isha. It’s going to be exciting to see the progress over the season!

We have some sports filled weeks ahead with the Dunedin Schools Metro Rippa Rugby Tournament next Tuesday as well as the TSSA Orienteering. Good luck to all children competing at these events.
