SPORTS NEWS - WEEK 5

Jolene Casey —

Check out all the latest sports draws, results, news and information here .....

Congratulations to all the children that took part in the Weet-Bix Tryathlon on Sunday.  A lovely day for it and a lot of enjoyment for all.

Flippa Ball Reports:-

The ET Penguins had their third game of the season on Sunday. There was great defence by Felix and Carter and goalies Jake and Emma against some fast shots on goal. This week the team also really started coming together on getting the ball up, passing to each other and heading into attack. This was rewarded with our first goal of the season to Noa but couldn’t have been done without the team behind her. Fantastic effort by all.

ET Seals 12 - 3 vs Andy Bay Flippers.  What an amazing team effort from the ET seals today. They all passed the ball very well to each other and found space to score goals. Connor, Ellie, Noah and Caleb all scoring goals.  Player of the day was Connor for his all round performance on both attack and defence.  Looking forward to next week.

Two games for the ET Sharks this weekend. Very challenging game for them Saturday going down by quite a margin, but coming back Saturday to win 6-1 in what was a more competitive game than the score would suggest.  Player of the Day (Saturday) to Ruby A for being all over the place and making life hard for the unusually rough competition.  Player of the Day (Sunday) to Toby O'N for some very accurate passing, and generally picking up the game well during his first season.  Note that the older kids don't have Flippa Ball this coming weekend as the big pool is in use for something else.

ET Dolphins - The team had a good game today despite being beaten 6 to 1.  Great defense by Millie and Kaiah. The only goal scored by Arielle after good team work by Angus, Bella and Corby.  Player of the day went to Oliver.

Futsal Reports:-

East Taieri Navy - Y5 5/6 - Division 1.  Although they had a loss for the first game, they came up against some very big opponents, but played well together. Some great team work and they never gave up. Player of the day as chosen by parents was Izaak K. Looking forward to watching this team develop over the season. Keep up the good spirit boys.

Game this week is:-  5:00pm Edgar Centre Court 19

East Taieri Navy vs Abbotsford 10 Yr 5/6
