SPORTS INFORMATION - WEEK 10

Rachel Phillips —

A huge well done to all sports teams during Term 2. A massive thank you to all our coaches, managers and helpers, we would not be able to enter teams without your support.

Remember to keep active over the holiday break - Seniors you have cross country in Week 3 of next term. The holidays will be a great chance to get your training started!

If you are looking ahead to next term, all 3 of our main winter codes, miniball, netball and hockey continue through most of next term too. Nearer the end of Term 3 we will be opening registrations for Touch, Futsal, Flippa Ball and T Ball, keep an eye out for these.

Miniball

Please check this weeks draw to ensure you have the correct copy. Last week some changes were made to the draw/competition in some grades, so please double check your child's game time.  https://www.sporty.co.nz/taieriminiball/Draws

A notice from Taieri Miniball management - Can all coaches, managers and parents please ensure that you DO NOT go down the sideline of the court at any stage throughout the game. It is a health and safety issue and disrupting for the referees. Thank you.

The policy with SNOW DAYS for miniball is that if schools are closed on that day, there is NO Miniball for that day. If it is a late start, then miniball continues as normal after school.

ALL children NEED a mouth guard to play miniball, so please ensure you have this ready to go.

Hockey

Year 3/4 Speedy Sticks vs MHS White Sticks - 4.25pm McMillan Hockey Centre (OPT)

Year 5/6 Super Sticks vs Silverstream - 4pm Please note the game is at SILVERSTREAM SCHOOL NOT at the Kings turf as stated on the draw.

Super Sticks game report: Another fast paced game against St Francis Xavier for the Super Sticks this week. It was really great to see our lunch time coaching skills transferring into our game. Although St Francis were triumphant, there was great improvement since our last game and the team should all be very proud.

Special mention to Noah and Alex who were both sporting injuries but came out charging.
We were so lucky to have Jack F play for us this week. Jack your skills on both attack and defence were outstanding. Congratulations Jack, this weeks player of the day.
