SPORTING SUCCESS

Jolene Casey —

A number of our children had great sporting success over the long anniversary weekend in a variety of sporting competitions.

CONGRATULATIONS to Hugo who had a very successful weekend at the Otago Swimming Championships.

He won gold (1st place) in the 100, 200 and 400 Freestyle races.  Silver (2nd place) in the 50m Freestyle race and 5th place in the 50 and 100m Breaststroke races all in the 10 and under boys group.

This is a huge success as he was competing against about 20 other boys from all across the wider Otago region.  Hugo also achieved many Personal Best (PB's) for some of his races.

Ruan was also at this event and competed extremely well too.  He achieved a Silver (2nd place) in his 200m Freestyle and three top 8 finishes in 50m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle and 1 other event.  Great results from such a large event.

We also had 3 girls who were selected for the Otago Athletics Team to compete in the Triangular Athletics meet over the weekend.

Elzanne and Arnelle H and Emme B all had great success at the weekend earning points for their Otago team in Athletics.  The Canterbury team was extremely strong, so came out with the win, however the girls achieved some PB's for their individual efforts, so a great achievement for them too.

We love to celebrate sporting success, so if your child has achieved highly please let us know so that we can acknowledge and celebrate their hard work, effort and dedication and their success.
