SPORTS INFORMATION - WEEK 4

Jolene Casey —

Çheck out the links for the draws and any team reports. Also some Rippa Rugby photos.

Rippa Rugby

What a stunning day out at the Logan Park artificial turfs for the Dunedin Metro Rippa Rugby Tournament.  We had 6 mixed teams competing with some great close games throughout the day.  Many thanks to our parent coaches and helpers and also our supporters, I'm sure all the children enjoyed themselves.

Our East Taieri Jade and White teams got through to the quarter finals, but unfortunately had to play each other, so only one team went through to the semi finals.  Well done to all of our teams for a great on field and off field performance.  See photos below.

Hockey

The hockey is underway. Please check out the OHA website for draw updates each week. Scroll down to the Primary School Hockey options.

For this week:-

Yr 3/4 Speedy Sticks 4.25pm on OPT 1 (OPT stands for Otago Polytechnic Turf , this is the closest turf to the pavilion building).

Yr 5/6 Super Sticks 5.10pm LF3 (LF stands for Lion Foundation Turf, this is the turf on the far side of the hockey complex, that backs onto the artificial soccer turfs).

Yr 5/6 Kwik Sticks 4.25pm on LF3 (Far turf)

Year 5 / 6 Super Sticks and Kwik Sticks will practice on Wednesday at lunchtime. Please ensure they have shin pads and a mouth guard with them.

Miniball

Miniball is underway.  There have been some big scores for and against over the past few weeks of grading games.  These scores are being analysed and there may be some changes to which section our teams are playing in. I'll confirm this with any teams that change.

If you are still unsure check out the school sports website for the team lists.

The Taieri Miniball website has the draw each week:- https://www.sporty.co.nz/taieriminiball

A reminder that there is now NO BREAK for two weeks due to the floor resurfacing. The only day off is Queens Birthday Monday.

ALL children NEED a mouth guard to play miniball, so please ensure you have this ready to go.
