PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.
Kia ora Koutou
Although we end the term on a sad note with the passing of Christine Wright, we are looking forward to our whole school tramp on Wednesday, which Christine had intended to watch from her window at home.
We have had a term full of events and activities supporting our teaching and learning programmes, with our first Mihi Whakatau last week being one of the highlights.
We are all ready for the term break - a chance to recharge and prepare for Term Two. Sadly we farewell Kerry Bristow, one of our fantastic Teacher Assistants. Kerry has been an invaluable member of our team for the past five years and our best wishes go with Kerry and her family as they relocate to Perth.
Kendall Brook finishes her term in Kohehohe (Room One) on Thursday, as Janine Clague returns next term from sabbatical leave. We thank Kendall for a great term's mahi and are not really saying goodbye, as she returns halfway through next term to cover for Hayley Miller who will be taking maternity leave.
Thank you to Shelley-Rae Gillions and her BBQ team for the great job they did for our Sausage Sizzle on Friday and a big thank you also to everyone who has contributed to a successful Term One at East Taieri - supporting and transporting children to inter-school events, parent helpers at camps and outdoor activity days, sports coaches and supporters. Special thanks to Jess Thompson who laid the foundation for our extension Te Reo group 'Te Wairua Opotea.'
Enjoy a relaxing holiday break, making the most of special times with family and friends.
Kā mihi nui
