On Friday we were very lucky to have Gareth and Nick from MPI (Ministry of Primary Industries) Fisheries came and spoke to classes. They brought their educational trailer which had information about different types of fish found around Otago. They also brought an aquarium with live crayfish and paua in it that we were able to touch (they were being returned to the ocean after the visit to school). The children were also able to hop into the Fisheries truck which had a siren and loud speaker the children enjoyed using. The highlight was the Fisheries boat. The children were able to get on board and explore all of the different parts.

It was a great visit and the children learned so much about how to protect all sea creatures.
