KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH CLASSMATES

Joanne Bryson —

Josh Grieve from Room 4 went to Tonga for the week. We caught up with him via email and found out a little about the school he was spending his week in.

When Room 4 found out that Josh would be going to Tonga we were so excited for him! Justine, Josh's mum, mentioned that Josh would be spending the week at a community school learning about the Tonga way of life. Miss B thought it would be a fun idea to Skype each other however his Tongan teacher (also known as Miss B) mentioned that the internet is very slow on the island and perhaps emailing each other photos would work.

Room 4 sent some photos to Josh's new class with a blurb about who we are. We then waited excitedly for a reply. A few hours later we received an email back with some photos and a blurb about their class.

It read:

Hi Room 4,

We are Class 5 at Acts Community School. There are 24 kids in our class: 14 boys and 10 girls. We are full of energy, noise and fun! We love to sing, dance and run around any chance we get. We don't have much in our class room and most of us don't have many toys or things at home but we have heaps of fun with the toys we make out of old tyres and things. Lots of us are cousins in this class, we are like one big crazy family! We have had lots of fun with Josh this week and I'm sure he will have heaps of stories to tell about how different life is here. Thanks!
