ROOM 3 AND ROOM 4'S YEAR 5 CAMP

Joanne Bryson —

Last week the Year 5's from Room 3 and Room 4 went to Tirohanga for a two day and one night camp.

Unfortunately, the week's weather didn't start off well for the Room 1 and 2 campers with them arriving to school with extreme rain and wind. Luckily, by Thursday the weather started to behave itself for the Room 3 and 4 campers.

Year 5 camp covered many different experiences and we were lucky to have some skilled professionals help us along the way. The tamariki learn't a wide range of life skills from how to be river safe, bush safe, how to rescue someone who is lost in the bush, even to what is the best stick to use when roasting marshmallows!

The tamariki all showed resilience and persereverance while at camp. It was lovely to see the confidence of all tamariki grow as they completed each activity. Bring on Year 6 camp!

A big thank you to Emma and her staff from Wild Earth Adventures, Constable Emily for helping us with our Search and Rescue and all the parent helpers who came along.
