A GREAT START TO WALK AND WHEEL WEEK

Lisa Agnew —

It was great to see so many of our East Taieri Students walking, biking and scootering to school this morning, the first day of Walk and Wheel Week.

Walk n Wheel Week aims to encourage and promote active modes of transport, such as scootering, biking and walking.

There are lots reasons to walk or wheel to school

  • To improve health and fitness

  • To learn about road safety

  • To reduce pollution

  • To have fewer cars and less chaos at the school gate

  • To be fresh and ready for learning at the start of the day.

As an extra incentive, we have lots of great prizes up for grabs for those students who consistently walk, bike or scooter to school this week.

We were lucky enough to have Sport Otago set up a course for scooters and bikes in the school carpark at lunchtime today.  Lots of fun was had by all.
