PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.

Kia ora koutou

I hope that everyone enjoyed the long weekend, especially the great temperatures on Saturday and Sunday.

It was a 'sporty' week last week with the Year 6 seven-a-side tournament at Taieri College, as well as our Year 4-6 Athletic Sports at East Taieri. It is always great to catch up with ex-pupils at Taieri College, as well as the day being an excellent opportunity for our Year 6 students to test their sporting skills against other schools on the Taieri. For the first time in ten years East Taieri won the rugby trophy. Well done to the rugby players! There were some close games in the other sports - several wins as well as losses. Thanks to the Taieri College students who had been coaching teams prior to the tournament.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in Friday's athletic sports, especially to those who qualified for the Taieri Schools Athletic Championship events. There were some excellent 'personal bests' achieved.

The Leadership Team will shortly be looking at composition of classes for next year. Should you wish to discuss placement of your child/children for next year regarding academic, social issues, etc please contact me by phone or email, or contact the office to make an appointment to see me by THIS Friday 30 October.

A reminder about the wearing of school sunhats being compulsory this term when children are outside.

We are looking forward to our cultural assembly and Grandparents' Day this Friday. See details later in the newsletter.

Ngā mihi nui
