PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.
Kia ora koutou
A big thank you to Sarah O'Neill for organising last Friday's Talent Quest which is always a highlight of the school year, showcasing the talents of East Taieri students. Congratulations to all performers. (See results later in newsletter and photos below.)
The Senior and Junior Carol services today were fabulous - amazing singing and acting in both, and we are looking forward to the Middle Team's performance tomorrow. Hopefully parents were able to enjoy today's performances via the live streaming.
It has been another challenging year for our school community, but again, I am very proud of what has been achieved at East Taieri despite COVID and its disruption to school life. I feel privileged to be part of such a passionate, committed team who care so much for your children and strive to provide the best possible learning environment and opportunities for them.
Our grateful thanks for the support from our Board of Trustees led by Karen Hanna and Home and School committee led by Kurt Laurie. These teams have worked hard alongside staff throughout the year ensuring that East Taieri continues to provide an excellent education and great resources for our students.
FAREWELL
Sadly we farewell Jaala Baldwin who has taken on our extra New Entrant class this term, after supporting in the Junior School this year. Nic Maw is changing from her Teacher Assistant role to working in the field of First Aid. We wish them all the best for next year and thank them for their highly valued contributions to East Taieri.
A special thank you to our Year 6 students who have been a fabulous group, giving so much to East Taieri and being such great role models. We really enjoyed their outstanding performance today and wish them well as they take up the next challenge in their learning journey. We will follow their futures with interest.
Our grateful thanks to everyone who has helped in so many different ways this year. Best wishes to families who end a long association with East Taieri as their children move on to College and Intermediate.
Please note:
Reports were sent home with children today.
Links to end-of-year performances will be available for a week.
To everyone - best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and safe, happy times with whānau and friends.
Meri Kirihimete me Hararei Hari.
Ngā mihi nui
