PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

"Titiro whakamuri ko kiri whakamua" Look back and reflect so you can move forward.

Kia ora koutou

Our school tramp was a great way to end the term, with everyone enjoying the opportunity to be outdoors. appreciating the stunning bush environment on our city's 'doorstep.' Thanks to all of the parents who joined us.

Term One has flown by, filled with great learning, exciting programmes and events and many achievements.

We are very proud of the fantastic achievement of our triathlon teams who competed in the Otago Camps in Cromwell last week. Special congratulations to Ruby Jones, Jessica Hanna and Sophie Thode who won the Year 5 Girls' section and Brady Connelly, Matthew Hanna and Zac Cunningham who won the Year 5 Boys' section.

I have included a link to our school charter 2018-2020 which has been approved by the Ministry.  We received the following feedback on our charter from the Ministry: ' It is evident that East Taieri School has an in-depth knowledge of its students, whānau, staff and wider community and has developed ambitious and achievable goals for 2018. Learners at East Taieri School benefit from targeted programmes leading to accelerated progress and extension and also enjoy a wide range of extra curricula opportunities in the arts, culture and sport.'

Everyone is looking forward to the holiday break, giving staff and students a chance to relax and 'recharge batteries' before we head into a very busy Term Two.

Happy holidays everyone.
