DESCRIPTIVE WRITING IN ROOM 5
Room 5 writers have been creating descriptions of settings and characters. We are working on using interesting words to create a picture in the reader's mind. The other skill we are practising is using the notes in our plans to create sentences. Here are some excerpts from our writing describing the Big Bad Wolf:
"This character is the Big Bad Wolf. He is very hairy" Samuel.
"He has beady eyes looking at us. He is a shifty wolf" Tyler.
"He pretended to be nice to Little Red Riding Hood and told lies dressed up as Grandma" Brooke.
"He causes trouble everywhere he goes, so that makes him a troublemaker" Nika.
"He is a devious and quite growly wolf" Alex.
"He trespassed on Grandma's property and told some lies" Jack.
"The wolf is very foolish because he ate Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood" Cooper.
