Enviro Inquiry

This term the school has had a focus on Environmental Science to increase our understanding and to lead the school further along the journey to becoming a Gold EnviroSchool.

Each class, or pod, has looked at various aspects of the environment and the human impact upon it.

Across the school we have asked some questions such as ‘What is sustainability?’ ‘What one thing could we change that would help our environment?’

Mataī and Mānuka looked at different areas of whenua (land) within the school and what we could do to encourage more wildlife. This culminated in the building of a big bug hotel next to the lizard home that was built last year, in the hope that we get some lunch available nearby for our scaly friends.
