On Friday the 8th of November (postponement date 15th November), we will be holding the East Taieri School Junior cross country. This is for all children from Year 0-3. The children will run a course that goes around the field, through the orchard with some things to navigate, and then finishes on the field. All classes will practice at school. The children will run in year groups and will run different distances.

The races will begin at 10.00am and will be in the following order with approximate distances of:

Pre-school/ Explorers (4 year olds) 500

NE boys and girls - 700

Year 1 boys - 700

Year 1 girls - 700

Year 2 boys - 1k

Year 2 girls - 1k

Year 3 boys 1.5k

Year 3 girls 1.5k

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee how fast the races will go, or what time each race will start, so please make sure you are in time for your child’s race. There will be a short stop between Year 1 and 2 races as the finish line is changed, and then again between Year 2 and 3 for the same reason. We will keep going (over play if necessary) until all races are completed. Certificates will be awarded at Syndicate assemblies the next week.

Can all children please wear suitable shoes and have comfortable clothes to run in (mufti). We will have sunscreen at the event, but it would be great if children put some on at home as there will be lots of time sitting outside.

We would love to see lots of parents, grandparents, friends and family supporting the children on the day, so please come along. There will be viewing spots out on the field and around the track.
