TOUCH

CONGRATULATIONS to Courtney S and Hamish C who were selected into Otago Touch Representative Teams for this season. Good luck for your trainings and tournaments in Oamaru, Invercargill and Christchurch. 

Games are up and running on a Monday after school at Peter Johnstone Park in Mosgiel.  Good luck to all of our teams.

FUTSAL

We require some year 5 children who are keen to fill in for a one off game of Futsal next week on Wednesday after school to take the place of our Year 6 children who are away at camp.  If your child is keen to have a game, please contact Jolene Casey.

Match Reports

The East Taieri yr 5/6 team have started off well this season and have jelled together very quickly. The first game was a 2 -1 loss bit played well. Player of the day was James C.

Last weeks game was a little more favourable and they had a 1 nil win, playing together well as a team and supporting each other. Player of the day Izaak K.

Thanks to all the parents for helping out on the day and keeping in touch via facebook . Looking forward to watching this team progress over the term.


FLIPPABALL (mini water polo)

ET Seals lost to Abbotsford Sharks 5-2

A very tough game to start the season versus strong opposition. After a slow start, the Seals settled into their game with good defence by Max and Connor and passing by Ellie and Noah. Well done to Isha, Cameron and George on their first game.Player of the day : Max for his amazing defence and hustle.ET Seals won 10-0 vs Mornington KekenoWow, what a start to the second game, players learning from the first game. Ellie and Connor quickly scoring 3 goals each with Cameron, George, Noah and Max all scoring as well.Well done to the amazing effort of all players on defence especially Isha in goal.Player of the day : George for his fantastic skills in both offence and defence.


East Taieri Dolphins vs St Brigids All Saints 1-8 loss.

Although we didn’t win everyone tried their best against a team with some strong players. Congratulations to Player of the Day - Milly Q! The final score was 8-1 to St Brigids. Special thanks to Elodie and Lily from ET Sharks who made up our team numbers today and a special mention to Connor’s Mum, Michelle MacDonald, for the coaching tips! Fingers crossed for a full turn out for our next game and thanks for bearing with me on my first Flipper Ball coaching gig!


SOFTBALL

An outstanding start to the season. Many thanks to Peter Wilson for coordinating the Softball season for East Taieri.

Week 2 results:-

East Taieri Tigers Red won again with no score recorded in a dominant win.
Player of the day was Lani D.

East Taieri Tigers Black won again with plenty of home runs by 21 to 18.  Player of the day was Jorja K, last weeks player of the day was Matthew S in his very first game with some great hits and strong running.


WEETBIX Tryathlon

Entries are now open for the WeetBix Tryathlon being held in Mosgiel next year on Sunday 7th of March.
