PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.
Kia ora koutou
You can be very proud of how your children have coped with a term full of changes and uncertainty. Our teaching team and teaching assistants have made a real effort to keep the school day as normal as possible and get learning programmes back on track. Along with students, we have been disappointed about the number of events that have been postponed this year.
One event that we were able to have, modified somewhat, was our annual Public Speaking Competition. Thank you to Sarah O'Neill for organising a highly successful Poetry Competition which was held last Wednesday evening. Congratulations to all finalists who entertained us with their excellent poetry presentations. (See article in newsletter for results.)
It was a great week last week with everyone enjoying Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori activities. Classes will continue to build on their new learning as they continue daily mahi tahi sessions.
With the announcement today that we are moving to Alert Level One, hopefully it means that next term we can go back to having assemblies and rescheduling events we have been unable to have. Our first will be our Cultural Assembly and Grandparents' Day which we plan to have on Friday 30 October.
We will continue with the earlier pick ups for the Juniors this week and return to normal times next term.
Thank you to everyone for working so well alongside us throughout this challenging term.
Wishing all of our families safe and happy holidays and time to reenergize in readiness for a busy final term.
Ngā mihi nui
