WHEN: This Wednesday 22 June 5.00 - 6.00PM

Matariki signals the Māori new year, which begins with the rising of the Matariki star cluster (the Pleiades or Seven Sisters). It is a time to gather with family and friends to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and plan for the future.

To celebrate this event we would like to invite you to a special Matariki night at East Taieri school this Wednesday.

WHEN:Wednesday 22 June

5.00 - 6.00PM

WHAT: Everyone will meet together on the court outside the Owhiro Centre.

Year 6 children will welcome the community. We will not be eating together this year, due to the continuing impacts of COVID.

Then the order of events will be as follows:

• East Taieri Karakia followed by E te Ariki

• Junior Team - Waiata

• Middle Team - Waiata

• Manu Mātārae

This will be followed by an opportunity for your child to share their mahi in their classroom.

Come together for a closing Karakia and waiata - Te Aroha
