PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.

Kia ora koutou

Congratulations to all runners who competed in last week's Taieri Schools Sports Association Cross Country, especially to those who qualified for the Otago Schools' Cross Country. It was great to see everyone aiming for their personal best as well as supporting one another. (Photos below. See article later in newsletter for results.)

East Taieri School is fortunate to be involved in a Ministry of Education initiative called the 'Better Start Literacy Approach.' This is a literacy initiative that uses structured literacy as its pedagogy. It is an integrated classroom literacy approach for Year 0/1 classrooms to support children’s early reading, writing and oral language success. Natalie King is the Facilitator for our school and Jo Hackfath, Sarah Esplin, Anna Devereux and Belinda Duff are training to be accredited teachers.

Fulton Hogan wish to thank the community for their ongoing patience and understanding during the present Cemetery Road upgrade. Please contact the main Fulton Hogan office at 03 478 8200 should you have any concerns regarding the project.
