PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Jennifer Horgan —

‘E ako ana, ā, e tipu tahi ana tātou’ - Learning and growing together.

Kia ora koutou

I hope that everyone has enjoyed a great holiday break and like us, are looking forward to a more settled term ahead.

We are very excited to have had the door between Rooms 7 & 8 finally installed during the holidays, creating a great collaborative learning space for both classes. Our grateful thanks to the Home & School committee for contributing towards the cost of the project through donating proceeds from last year's School Fair. We would have been unable to complete this renovation without their contribution.

To cater for our ever increasing New Entrant numbers we have created a new learning space - Room 14, in what was the Music Room in the Owhiro Centre. It is great to be able to have Sarah Esplin teaching in this space as she is familiar with teaching in the Junior School and took our Room 14 New Entrants during Term 4 last year. The Music Room has been moved to the middle section of the Owhiro Centre. A big thank you needs to go to the Home & School Committee for providing a TV to be used for music classes as well as assemblies and Kiwiana.

A highlight of the last week of Term 2 was Room 34's fantastic 'Ínvention Convention' showcasing the creative talents of the students who were displaying some amazing inventions. See article later in newsletter.

Ngā mihi nui
