PLAY IS THE WAY
Our focus life raft this week is... Pursue your personal best no matter who you work with.
This life raft focuses on the fact that we don’t come to school to be better than others. We come to school to better ourselves by being able to work with others.
Some key questions that we get students to think about are:
How does coming to school to be better than others make school more stressful, less safe and less rewarding?
How will learning to get the best out of yourself, no matter who you work with, prepare you for whatever lies ahead in your life?
When working with people who are difficult, what skill do you need to make sure you get the best out of yourself and those you are working with?
Having better skills than someone else does not mean you are a better person than them. What is the difference between your character and your abilities?
Why is being better than others no guarantee that you’re pursuing your personal best?
The attached reading "Self-Evaluation: A Safeguard Against Complacency" is a reading which we thought included valuable information and advice. We thought that our school community would find it valuable too.
