BEACH EDUCATION

Belinda Duff —

Last Wednesday, the Year 3 children visited Brighton beach. While the weather held a chilly blast, it definitely didn't dampen the children's enthusiasm! After a tour of the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club, the children spent time in the classroom learning about keeping sun safe, beach safety, how to spot a rip in the waves and what to do if they find themselves caught in one. They then went to the beach to play games and after lunch all children braved the cold to swim in the sea! A BIG thank you to all our parents who helped on the day.

On Thursday, Life Guards visited the Year 0-2 and 4- 6 children in their classrooms, focusing on beach safety and being sun smart.
