It has been wonderful to hear so many children excited to share their sporting highlights and achievements with me! Keep up the wonderful attitude, achievement and sportsmanship!

We have some exciting sporting opportunities for our girls coming up at the end of next week! We have a Mini Football world cup event being held on Thursday for our Middle Team girls who were interested and a Fun Fern Fever sports day for 32 of our Yr 5/6 girls next Friday. We can't wait to report how these go!

Next weekend is the Weetbix Kiwi kids triathlon. Good luck to everyone who has entered!

Touch: Another sunny Monday afternoon at Peter Johnstone Park. It was great to hear from Yr 5/6 ET Navy having an impressive win against Silverstream Gold 9-3. There was fabulous team work throughout the game but Sam G was a stand out to receive Player of the Day! Well done East Taieri Navy! I would love to her all the results from touch, please send me an email with your teams results.

Cricket: I am currently working alongside with Otago Cricket as they try and get the Taieri module up and running. We are hoping to start the Taieri Cricket module this week, please keep an eye on your emails today for an update, sorry for the sort notice of this, I currently don't have any updates to share with you!

Otago Swimming Championships: The Annual Otago Swimming Champs is back to being held at the beginning of the year and is scheduled for Sunday the 26th of March. Children must qualify for these events and must have an official swim time to enter. If your child is interested in competing or you have any further questions about this, please contact Rachel Phillips or Peter Thorn.

Sports uniform fundraising: We are looking at doing some fundraising to purchase new singlets for children to wear while playing sports such as touch, miniball, triathlon, cross country etc. If you have any wonderful fundraising ideas please get in touch with me, Rachel Phillips.
