OAR FM Radio Visit

Janine Clague —

Last term Rooms 1 and 2 researched the Suffrage Movement to celebrate 125 years of women gaining the right to vote in NZ.   After this we were interested in finding out what life was like in the 1900s and decided to interview women to find out more.   The children worked with Shannon from the OAR FM Dunedin Radio Station on interviewing techniques and wrote their own open ended questions.  They then chose a special lady to interview and learn more about their life growing up in NZ.  Thank you to all the women who contributed to this research, it has been lovely listening to the children's interviews with you.

Four children were also lucky enough to have their name drawn out of the hat to visit the OAR FM station on Friday.  The children were shown around the station and also had the opportunity to do some recording.

Thank you to Shannon and OAR FM team for their opportunity.
