SCRABBLE

Joanne Bryson —

Last Thursday a group of Year 5 and Year 6 students went to the Dunedin Public Library Scrabble competition.

Last Thursday was really fun because I won the first round by 30 points. I had really good letters. My best word was 'zit' that was my highest score with 34 points. My team worked well however I was the only Year 5 that won a game . At the end of each game you had to add up your left over tiles and deduct this off your overall score. In the first round I had to take 18 points off but I still won. The second round I lost by 70 points.

Last Thursday scrabble was great and we weren't stressed at all. I had fun because I took my time for both rounds even though I lost. The first round I had to reduce 32 points off my score. My highest score was 'ox' for 27 points. I only had to reduce 9 points off my score which wasn't a lot.
