EPro8 CHALLENGE

Janine Clague —

The EPro8 Challenge is a school science and engineering competition. It is designed to give students a fun and rewarding introduction to science and engineering.

This year's format was changed due to covid and we held a competition at school to decide the two teams that would proceed to the inter school event.  We had six teams of four competing.  They had to create one of the three options  - A Scarecrow, Decision Maker or a Concrete mixer out of the materials supplied.  The groups had to complete a serious of challenges in two hours and they were judged on their execution of these.  Four teams couldn't be separated and so we had a play off this week.

The two teams who came out on top were:

Luca, Paige, Tom, and Evelyn

Noa, Jack, Charlotte T and Mikayla

Unfortunately due to other commitments some of the members can't attend the finals events next week, so Cameron, Elzanne, Caeli and Mikayla are joining the teams.

We have been so proud of the children's collaboration in their groups.  They have displayed the skills of engineering, communication, problem solving, negotiation and resilience.  All the children who participated should be proud of their efforts.
