BYOD COMMUNITY SURVEY

Garth Powell —

The COVID-19 crisis has forced education systems worldwide to find alternatives to face-to-face instruction. As a result, online teaching and learning have been used by teachers and students on an unprecedented scale. The NZ Curriculum reflects this need with a strong focus on promoting digitally capable, global citizens. Technology is moving at a fast pace and many of the careers we are preparing our students for do not yet exist. Skill-sets no longer revolve around merely learning facts, as this information is now at our fingertips. E-learning and BYOD provides a structure for delivering a responsive curriculum and beginning this learning at primary school will help foster a smoother transition to their next place of learning.

We would again like to get feedback from our parent community about your thoughts and understanding of what BYOD is and if it has a place at East Taieri School with the changes that have occurred to face-to-face and online learning.

We ask that you complete a short Google form so that we can gather an indication for how parents would feel about BYOD being implemented at East Taieri and also any issues or concerns that they may have.
