SCHOOLS BEACH EDUCATION PROGRAMME

On Thursday 1 December all children in Years 1,2,4,5 and 6 will be participating in the Surf to Schools Beach Education programme in the classroom. Trained Life Guards will talk to the children about water safety at the beach. Some of the topics covered will be the importance of swimming between the flags, knowing your water limits, making sure you are close to an adult and identifying a rip in the ocean. With the high number of water accidents in New Zealand, this is an important part of our Outdoor Education curriculum. The cost of this is $5 per student which will be added to your child's account.
