Ellesmere College PTA 2023

We’ve been thankful for the support we have had fundraising with Cookie Time Cookies, Firewood, Dominos Pizza lunch and sales from the uniform shop. We have been able to provide funding for end of year trips, Kaitiaki support and a sizable contribution to a new school van.

What we do need is more parents and community members to be involved. All of us who are part of the PTA have busy lives. Our time commitment is small, one meeting per month and optional time involved in fundraising, coalition or distribution of items. At the moment we are the 1% doing this for the students at Ellesmere College and we really implore you to consider helping out.

You get to be actively involved in your child’s education by hearing what is happening in the school as Mr Bass attends the meetings, you get to have your say about what you want the PTA to do for students at Ellesmere College, all in an informal environment. As a bonus you will also get to meet other parents and community members - forming new connections is always awesome !

For 2024, we have been investigating running the equivalent of the Cactus program from BlueEdge for our students. We are also aware that we will not have the ability to support whānau with as much second hand uniform, as all students will be in the new school uniform from 2024, so we have been organising an arrangement where members of the community can donate to a PTA Uniform Club with NZ Uniforms.

We wish all our community and school whānau members a safe summer break. We would love to see you along at our first meeting of the year on Tuesday 13th February 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Library. It will be our AGM where we will be looking for role holders and then our first meeting.
