It was a fantastic day on the hardcourts at Ellesmere College. The sun was shining and there was some great basketball on display. All teams bought their A games and played hard. All teams mixed together well and during the breaks and were very social. There was a great sense of community between the schools and students all supporting one another. Darfield High School ended up being too strong for the other three teams, going undefeated and taking out the overall win.

Brief Report and Photos from the Day

A great day was had by all on the Ellesmere College Touch field for summer quad. The day got off to a great start with not a cloud in the sky and enthusiastic touch players ready to go. An early (but close) loss to Mt Hutt College was not enough to put off our players as the scoreline reflected a close fought game. Game two of the day saw a good win over Geraldine, in a game where our touch skills really came to light. On the other field a close game between eventual winners Darfield and Mt Hutt saw a try right on the full time hooter secure the victory for Darfield. Our final game saw our toughest opposition of the day, Darlfield. Ellesmere College went up 1 - 0 early in the game, however this only sparked Darfield to put on 5 unanswered tries to come out winners 5-1. A great day was had by all.
